Members melvinspeed
Been looking for a backbeat snare in some kind of wood. After drooling over this for a couple of weeks, I pulled the trigger and it arrived last Saturday. Pearl Limited Edition 13x9 6-ply Mahogany The depth is crazy. It provides fantastic body while the wood projects a warmth that I wasn't getting from my steel or brass snares. What I wasn't expecting (and pleasantly surprised) is that the 13" diameter gives it some crack so it's not all sludgy thud. It came with Ambassadors top and bottom. Fairly tightly tuned... at least moreso than I typically run my FF. Sounds great. I haven't messed with other tunings or heads, but I'll probably try a Genera HD since that's my normal setup. Maybe a CS or pcrd. Enough :blah: Time for the porn May your drum Christmas be as fruitful!

Members melvinspeed
For the capitalists: $325 incl. shipping (imagine my surprise when it showed up in a DW box!) And for the record, even I, lover of 80's hair metal, think the VP snakeskin is over the top.
