Members cdawg
so, my kid just turned five. he loves to make noise on my kit, but can't really reach everything. so, i've decided to build him one, out of the few i have layin' around.i'm thinkin' four piece, maybe use my 16 ft as a kick. (anyone ever build their own mount to raise it, and attach the pedal?)what about a short, good quality throne? anyone ever cut one down? suggestions? keep it low, or no cost. i do have three other kits i can cannibalize. Members 1001gear
You can get or bend your own legs and use the installed leg mounts. The third can hold a tom or cymbal. Riser brackets for the pedal are out there as well.
Members jimtyler
Just a thought,, Shopgoodwill always has really really cheap little kid sets. Of course they are low quality, but they are tiny. Replace parts as needed with upgrades, better pedal first, real snare, let him grow into quality. He'll be ready for a full size set in just a couple of years anyway..
