Members the DW
My 18" Stage Custom kick finally arrived, and what do I find? The tom mount is backwards. Normally, the wingnut faces the drummer, not the audience! Tried to turn it around, but the hole in the mount is not centered, so it doesn't match the hole in the shell when turned around. How strange.... and even the name badge is backwards. Made in China. Oh well, can't complain too much... the price was right. The main thing? It sounds GREAT! Stay tuned for pics of the complete "rehearsal" kit.
Members cg2112
I'm pretty sure all Yamaha bass drums have the wingnut at the front (facing the audience), so you didn't get anything wonky.
Members SYMBOLIC
Only 6 lugs per side? How does it hold its tuning? My 18" floor tom had eight per side, so that looks like it doesn't have anything holding the heads in comparison.
Members the DW
Progress report: So here's a partial assembly. Still have to add snare, hi hat, cymbal mount (for the other end of the horizontal boom arm) and the cymbals. Tomorrow. Procrastination has set in. cg2112 wrote: I'm pretty sure all Yamaha bass drums have the wingnut at the front (facing the audience), so you didn't get anything wonky. Oh, ok. I won't worry about it. Thanks! SYMBOLIC wrote: Only 6 lugs per side? How does it hold its tuning? My 18" floor tom had eight per side, so that looks like it doesn't have anything holding the heads in comparison. My previous Yamaha 18" kick had six lugs, too. Seems to hold tuning ok. I won't be wailing on this one, so it should be alright.

Members drumstix
BTW, how the heck do you add a pic? After hitting the reply buttom, nothing seems the pop up with any provisions for a photo upload.
Members 1001gear
There's several ways. If it's a personal pic hit the icon that looks like a tree and you'll get options for grabbing off your drive. Something like {from another site/from my computer}. Caution with this one, it goes into your online account and there is no way to organize, edit, delete, or otherwise change this gallery. Another thing I discovered is with catalog pics like the boom and clamp I posted, they sabotage the image with superfluous code that exceeds the posting limit. SO ...For that I went to Photobucket where I just grabbed the HTML code which pastes right into the HTML tab in your text editor no problem no 20,000 character overload.
