  1. I think that you can point fingers at anyone you want in this kind of situation, but to me it all comes down to the point that just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should do it. It's not only questionable legally, because deception is a form of fraud (especially since zero money changed hands here), but someone would have to be morally bankrupt to pull this kind of stunt. They didn't work him over; I've done that plenty of wheeling and dealing in my life, but they lied to his face and took his merchandise from him for nothing in return. That's theft; I don't care how you try to reword it, point out the old man's responsibility, or if you could technically get away with it in a court of law on a technicallity or fancy talk. If it happened to you or someone that you cared about you would be pissed. Just because it was the other way around doesn't make it all right. If they didn't think that it was wrong than that really doesn't say much for them as people.
  2. It takes years to build up a reputation as a business and just one horrible mistake to destroy it. If I was the owner I'd be frickin furious and someone would have been fired. Can't believe I missed this thread the first time.
  3. I didn't even know that they were on....I guess that I didn't miss a whole hell of a lot.
  4. +1 for Lowbrow for completing a trade. Ashasha, I didn't see that you'd stated not to post anymore in this thread. I'll repost it when HC 2.0 comes out. Don't worry about it, I am going to update it later tonight and delete the posts. At this rate I'll be about 2 years behind waiting on HC2.0.
  5. Great video. The whole PG Fleetwood Mac era was a bit before my time so I haven't really gotten into it and some of the clips I've seen in the past didn't really do much for me, but I can see the appeal and here the talent. I guess I'll have to check out some more stuff here and give it a good listen because it does seem like I am missing out on something here. What a frickin interesting documentary though; I mean you've got all kinds of crazy {censored} going on there from the drugs and the fame to the cult to schizoprenia....wow.
  6. UPDATE---All good trades have been updated offline and the list in this thread is still current as of 05Dec09. According the the admins during the transition to HC2.0 any new posts are not going to make it over there so I am assuming that the updated list wouldn't make it either. I've got all of them accounted for up to this post even if the current list here doesn't reflect it.
  7. That's been on my list for a while, but it's not a high enough priority to bother with right now. I'm looking at this one myself, even though I thought that I saw a CV Jazz bass with a maple neck at GC that was phenomenal. I can't find the maple necked ones online.

  9. That fretboard almost looks like it's ebony. Very hot; looks like a lot of fun to play. Nicely done.

  11. +1 for CompleteGuitard. Great communication, fast shipping (as fast as you can expect from Canada and a real pleasure to deal with.
  12. UPDATED Current as of 7:41PM 06Oct2009 You know that you've been doing this list a longtime when you know who is already on there before you even look for the name. You know that you've been doing this list for TOO long when you know what their rating is and who is moving up to gold or platinum before finding their name.
  13. From 1978-1984 he was the most influential guitarist around, bar none, and deserved all the credit he got. It's not his fault that so many lemmings followed him, and that other much more technical guitarists tried to sound like him (Vai) to cash in on his style. I idolized the guy in my teens. Some point after 1984, he started to sound like a clone of himself. He basically lost me after I saw some Cheryl Crow benefit thing in the 90's where he was supposed to be the "house" guitarist...he showed 0 versatility and did the same licks, harmonics and dive bombs for almost every solo. No nuance, nothing new. Basically he became a personification of what all of his critics claimed he was, where as in his younger years he was always a step ahead. It's like he stopped growing after DLR left. It would have been nice if he could have gone in some other direction, but he just kept up with pretty much the same thing for the last 20 years. Then, I saw the DLR reunion tour a few years back (a friend had an extra ticket), and he was flat out terrible. So, I loved him in his younger 10 years, started to hate him from then on. I've seen some clips of him jamming with other players and he even admitted in an interview that it isn't one of his strong points; he just isn't comfortable with another guitarist and I don't think that he does other people's stuff off the cuff well. A lot of that IMHO is probably due to his strengths which are playing EVH styled {censored} which isn't exactly the most run of the mill type {censored} out there. He's got his own feel and mojo which is what makes him what he is; that's like trying to take a Ferrari four wheeling; it's just not designed to do that very well.
  14. Top 3 on a list that would be really hard to complete in my book. I frickin love everything he has done except for the VHIII abortion with Cherone. I don't know him personally and won't ever meet him and the only thing that I need from him is his music and he's delivered for me over the years as well as anyone that I can think of. I could care less about the crap that gets out to the media because at the end of the day I am sure that he's done 10 times as much good {censored} for others that just isn't newsworthy enough to be reported (just like everything in life these days). Judging someone based on what the press reports is just silly. He's a frickin person and for some reason people seem to forget that. He's done nothing but bring good times to my life. I frickin love him.
  15. -1 for TWOTIMINGPETE (appropriate name here) I was going to buy his BGBucker and I was just waiting for him to get back to me on the length but told him I would take it if the length wasn't too short. I leave to go to the Living Colour show in New Port Richey and sign on today to find out the jerk sells it so someone else. What kind of scum does this seriously? I have had this happen 5 or 6 times in the last month or so. Does our word mean nothing anymore and is it pure greed for money that dictates anything. I have nothing good to say for people like this. I can understand your disappointment, but it sounds more like a misunderstanding and there wasn't a premeditated effort to scam you out of money or gear and the only thing you are out is missing out on a potential purchase. If he had promised you that he was holding it for you I'd think that it would put some people off, but just like with buying anything if you wait there is a chance that someone else will buy it. And yeah, that sucks too. If you had paid and he backed out or outright stole your money than it would be an immediate blacklist and deduction, but that didn't happen either. Your post is in here for all to see, twotimingpete's side is in here as well and I think that is as far as it should go. I won't be deducting any transaction points from anyone over this and I think that just about everyone else would agree that it isn't warranted.

  17. Coverdale's one of the few 80's singers that I have some respect for....I have no idea why; I just do. I love that frickin ampitheater....I saw Maiden there in the early 90's when I was in school at Lowry. Great show, but the place itself was just mind blowing. I am jealous that you get to see so many shows there.

  19. Hate being a stickler but I am on the list as "Donsimom76", it should be DonSimo n76. Anyone ever mention that you rock? Got it fixed, sorry about that. By the way the props all go to steveman, he did all the heavy lifting on this one; I've just taken the task of maintaining it while he takes a break for a while. Nice to hear that the effort is appreciated!
