Members Electric Blues Posted December 12, 2008 Members Share Posted December 12, 2008 I can't speak for Bryan's pickups specifically, but the sustain you get from p90's is noticeably (although not neccessarily significantly) worse than what you would get from humbuckers, just because there's more magnetic pull on the strings. No. I own both types. If anything, I get more sustain from the Pure 90s. A much more sensitive pup too, at least in my experience. Maybe you've adjusted your P90s to close to the strings? I just spent an hour noodling with it and all I can say is HOLY CRAP, BRYAN. It almost makes me sound good. Thank you so much for these pups. I'm so friggin' blown away by the volume, the texture, and the sweetness. My LP has just mad it back into rotation after sitting for almost a year. If anyone is even remotley thinking about doing this switch, just get off your ass and do it. You won't be sorry. Oh, BTW, did I tell you how much I love these Hot 90's?
