Members Karma1
I did a search on this but didn't find what I was looking for. I'd like to make some mp3 clips of part of a song, ie. just the section with lead guitar for example. I can drag the song out of iTunes and make an mp3 of the whole thing, but how do I shorten it into just the section I want? Then, once that is done, how do I post it here?Any advice would be appreciated - thanks.
Members gergbee
Use the free multi-platform Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ) to edit the sound file to the length you wish then export. To post it here you need some kind of host. Lots of people use http://www.soundclick.com/

Members mrbrown49
Reaper is another good option if you want to do a little more advanced recording stuff on the cheap. Last I checked a license was 50 bucks, but it's free to try. I second the soundclick recommendation.
Members benricci
Select the track in iTunes, then select Get Info and change the Start/Stop time. After you change the Start/Stop time in iTunes, select the song and right-click it. One of the options you'll see is Convert to XXXX (XXXX being whatever format you have your iTunes importing preferences set to AAC, Mp3, etc.) Select Convert to XXX and iTunes will create a clip that will have the new Start/Stop times.
