Members SirJackdeFuzz
A tele is fine playing that type of stuff. For modern hard rock and metal a stock tele is a poor choice. Do not tell this to guys of 'Unsane' Single Coil Tele . . . into Recto , get's two :thu: up.
Members mudcat
If it doesn't sound good on a Tele, it's probably not music worth playing in the first place. :poke:
Members Ouzhewen
I think a tele is really a versatile guitar, its pretty much good for any style. Agreed.
Members dbsens13
tele's are good for almost anything. I mean look at Jim Root in Slipknot/Stone Sour. He uses a tele, granted he's got EMG's in it. Also look at John 5. That dude can shred and he has a gazillion tele's.

Members thunder100
Recently seeing my DVD of Danny Gatton my answer is-->YES a Tele can handle all music including Hard and Heavy-->If you can play it. Even I disagree it cannot do LP stuff-->it can to a certain extend But like me I always need an excuse why I need to buy annother guitar-->Never can get this "sound/tione" otherwise ;-) Roland

Members Willyguitar
I'm sure this question have been asked about 10 times in the last year or so. But everyone still loves to answer. I would say that a tele is a bit better suited to heavier stuff than a strat. It can certainly do hard rock of the Led Zep, late 60s early 70s variety (Beck and Page both developed their hard rock styles on a tele). It can probably also manage certain kinds of metal... especially if you wire the pickups in series. However, it wouldn't be the fluffy hair-spandex trousers brigade guitar of choice. However, the more pertinent question is: do you ever actually need that much gain?
