My dad posts at a firearms message board and one of the things they've got organized there are group buys. The idea is that if there is something a lot of people want and there is a discount for buying several at once instead of each person buying one individually, one guy places an order and sends it out to everyone else. Maybe it wouldn't work here because there are just too many things that we're all planning to buy at any one time, but for example if I were going to buy this Pigtail Aluminum Wraparound Bridge in chrome and two or more other folks wanted one, we'd all save eight bucks. In this example Stew Mac already gives discounts for higher quantity purchases, but it might be worth it to reach out to other retailers as well. One way to do it might be for someone to say, "Hey, I'm ordering part XYZ sometime in the next two weeks. If anyone else wants to get one to bring the price down, let me know and I'll order more."
