Moral questions about counterfeits

I'd wait for an important occasion...

 

Like maybe that long awaited showcase show with the big name producer in the audience...

 

And then, backstage, just before they go on... look at the guitar... kinda squint my eyes, and shift my head to the side a bit... as if I'm noticing for the first time... and say:

 

"Hey... I'm not sure... but I think this is a fake. What do you think?"

 

Then, no worries... he'll be so distracted by the thought of his precious being fake, that he won't be nervous about the show... and he'll get signed... and be able to buy bunches of "REAL" guitars.

 

Yep. That's what I'd do... hypothethically.

I'd tell him I have my suspicions about it's authenticity. Play the not sure card. Then at least you got it off your chest. And if the owner chooses, he can check it out himself. To not say anything at all would be just wrong.
