Members Woody_in_MN
I just got a First Act ME302 tele style to get my feet wet into tele style guitars. The bolt on neck is quite fat, even for a Gibson type neck. Could I swap in any bolt on fender/squire type neck? Are these fairly generic? Thanks in advance. - W
Members stormin1155
Good chance that it would fit, but measure first.
Members Brewski
there some things you need to research: 1. scale lenght of hte guitar and the new neck need to be the same2. # of frets need to be the same the rest is cosmetic BUT - i suggest you go to guitarfetish.com to buy a new neck - they'll take it back if it doesn't fit. For compatability you would want to.... >Measure Neck pocket depth, width and length. >Check heel shape of neck pocket...rounded or squared. Take those spec's and see how they measure up the the neck you want to slap on there. Most of the time it is best to match the stock scale length with the new neck but it is possible to change it depending on your bridge type. Warmoth does for example sell conversion necks.http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/necks/strat_conversionneck.aspx
