Members John Sayers
I had Peking Duck in the Peking Duck restaurant in Beijing - it's ok but nothing special. Watching the chefs carve the duck was more special

Members slight-return
Why do they still call it Peking duck instead of Beijing duck? cue They Might be Giants. kinda funny - I've got (well, had, he recently passed) a Chinese Uncle and he and my cousin (she was born in USA) would have this thing Uncle : "We Orientals" Cousin : "Dad, we're Asians" Uncle : (laugh) I think he really enjoyed pulling her chain on that but on a serious note - I think the way we hear the city name has more to do with inconsistent and poor romanization I worked in software L10N for a while and sometimes the names project directories for each language would be IN that native language...it really gave you a sense of how often, in (USA) English at least, we don't use the native name or butcher it pretty badly. NPR had a neat little interview last night with the Spanish language announcer for the Dodgers and one thing he was mentioning is that he really tries to respect the native pronunciation of a name of a player
