Eastman is probably too high to fit there.

See if you can find a Hofner CT series. The Verythin model is the one you want to find.

The Epi, Hagstrom and others are also good choices. Try some out to see which one fits best.

Forgot abouot the Verythins! I think a shop back home in Leeds had a few in stock. Should have tried one out but wasn't interested in semis at the time.

I vote Hagstrom...

I tried the Tremar version the other day.

Didn't plug it in but it felt really nice. Pretty well built and the trem stayed in tune well. The inlays let it down big slabs of ugly white MOTS but it wouldn't be so bad if they were dots. Shame they don't do it in cherry red. Biggest let down was the price,

They are a little bit more pricey, but nothing really needs to be upgraded. The pickups are some of the best stock pickups I have ever heard, stays in tune well, really good construction.

I chose a Cherry Sunburst Hagstrom Viking Deluxe. I was torn between the Epiphone Casino and the Hagstrom, but the Zappa connection (see their website) closed it. Plus the neck works better for me. It sounds great and looks great (Jimmy D'Aquisto design).

I really like my Hamer Echotone. It is an older one as it sat in a store unsold for about 10 years. To get it right, I ended up putting a new nut on it and putting in some good pots and caps. At least with this one, the Duncan Designed pickups are pretty good, kind of PAF in out put. It's got a binding on the neck and in the f-holes, so looks pretty good.

I knew there was one in the local store for a long time but Will Ray talked about getting one in his column on ebay guitar finds in a guitar magazine, so I checked it out.
