It rusted out on the side but my dad was too cheap to have it fixed so he cut out a piece of the slide from an old swingset and pop riveted it on. Very classy. Your old man is my hero. Not everyone has an instrument repair shop nearby and in the past, finding one and shipping to and from them was such a big hassle nobody would have bothered. I kind of respect these, actually.
