Members Bowen Posted January 14, 2010 Author Members Share Posted January 14, 2010 It is all done now. I hate painting wood, but this turned out pretty well I think. The recipient wanted this to have a smooth textured feel and I was worried about getting the texture even. There were only a couple of little mistakes that I managed to straighten out. Yesterday I finished doing the setup, this morning I made the covers from aluminum sheet. As an experiment I did a quick french polish on the raw aluminum to see how it would hold up, and hopefully prevent the aluminum from getting nasty too quickly.
