Members SightlineSinger
I am reworking a Strat. I am tearing out the guts and starting fresh. I want a hot distortion with a warm clean sound. I was thinking about throwing in a Hotrail in the bridge and a Fender Texas in the middle with no pickup in the neck. Is this a crazy idea? I never play in the neck position anyway.
Members SightlineSinger
I've never completely gutted a guitar either. Thanks.
Members Bro Blue
Why not just go with two humbuckers like a LP or SG? Strats sound nice with the buckers, look cool, too:
Members SightlineSinger
That is very similar to what my guitar is going to look like except I'm going black on black. What humbuckers do you have on there?

Members superdistortion
If you don't use the neck pickup you could just leave the one you have already in there and just disconnect it. I'm thinking some hot DiMarzios or Duncans with alnico 5 magnets for the bridge and middle.
Members SightlineSinger
There is nothing currently in the guitar. It has been gutted. It should also be noted that I play alternative rock like Our Lady Peace, Bush and U2.
