Members fuzztone
How can I identify these pickups. These are the pickups in my 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom. They are replacements, not the originals. The backs are stamped "Gibson USA" no other marks or numbers. My friend said that they probably Gibson replacements that never had a top on them. Any other way to identify when thes were made and what model(s) these are?
Members benricci
Without any marks or numbers it's gonna be pretty tough to pinpoint the exact model.
Members tiltsta
Not sure, but I think the Gibson logo stamping on the back was common around the late 80s-90s era. Before that they had circuit board backs, PAF stamp numbers, or PAF stickers (listed new to old).
Members fuzztone
Thanks guys, I bought this guitar at the store forum member clyde42 works at. He said they were Gibson replacements fom the 80's or 90's but there is no way to tell exactly what they are except to put a multimeter on them and measure the output.
