Members aepoc
Getting some locking tuners for my Strat, and I'm curious what you'd go with. Schaller? Sperzel? Gotoh? Some other brand?
Members randombastage
I have some Sperzels with the staggered height on mine...they have been fine, I removed the string tree without any problems showing up. Sorry no other experience to compare them with. My Strat is an old Roland Ready made in Mexico if that matters.
Members ashasha
Stagger height sperzels. They eliminate the need for the string trees which cause some binding and they are really well made. I'll also give you a tip on scoring some for cheap (if you can still find them). I bought a set of lefthanded ones that were on clearance for almost 50% off. The damn things are reversible with a phillips screwdriver and about 10 minutes for the whole set. It even clearly says so on their website and the box itself.
Members _pete_
Personally I don't like the Sperzels. The gear ratio is too low, the locking knob is kinda sharp edged, and drilling for the locating pins is a pain in the ass. My favorite aftermarket lockers are Planet Waves. These also seem pretty nice for the price.http://store.guitarfetish.com/negostlotusp.html

Members McCain
Have both and prefer http://store.guitarfetish.com/negostlotusp.html over Sperzels. Sperzels I think are 12:1 or 14:1 and the GF's 19:1 and very smooth. Also staggered.

Members Karma1
I've got Schallers, Sperzels, and Planet Waves on different guitars and like them all. But I think the Schallers would have the best chance of fitting without any drilling or modifications.
Members EADGBE
I'd go with either Grover or Schaller.
Members k4df4l
These also seem pretty nice for the price.http://store.guitarfetish.com/negostlotusp.html I picked up a set of these for my current strat project and they do seem pretty nice for the cash. I'll have a more detailed impression once they are installed and strung.
