Members motley70
is it better to have a guitar hang from its headstock or sit in a case or on a stand? i've heard a lot of different answers to this, what do you guys think?
Members Lobsterbush
I personally think that a guitar in it's case is the safest guitar. I don't see how this could adversely affect the guitar. That being said I also have guitars without cases that just sit out on stands with no noticeable downsides. Members yell03
What do you think my answer is?seriously....NEVER on a StandIf you are a collector who rarely plays the guitar then leave it in its case.I play all of my guitars almost every day. Hanging them keeps CASE CLUTTER out of the way and makes it very convenient to just grab it and play.Get a good quality hanger, I use Hercules. It has a self locking mechanism, it is safe and convenient. When I had six guitars all in cases it looked like sh-t and it was killing my back to keep bending down to take them out and put them pack in when I wanted to play. Members EADGBE
Case is the best. It protects it better than anything.
Members Dougie.Douglas
I put mine on floor stands I use a Hercules mini stand, no problems what so ever.
Members newbuilder
I like porn in my corn. Guitars are alot tougher than people give credit. It shouldn't matter. Make sure the cable is unplugged so either way when someone walks by they don't pull it off of either.
Members tiltsta
Mine are on wall hangers, but I think cases are the safest option. Simply a matter of potential energy. Guitars can fall off of stands/hangers, but are at rest in a case.

Now I unplug everything as soon as I am done playing!
Members Metalrulez
I use wall hangers, floor stands and a 7 guitar rack.Wall hangers are great since they free up floor space and put that open spot on the wall to use.
Members sxyryan
I have a floor stand for the occasional use, but I'm so clumsy it's not the best plan to leave it out in that indefinitely. The case will protect it more, but once you start getting a couple guitars (unless you can control the urges HCEG plants in you :poke:) cases pile up and it's a pain to open it up all the time. I like wall hangers myself. Plus, a handful of guitars hanging up on the wall can really brighten up a drab room.
Members faberbz
In my wife's music room, she has her two favorite acoustics on stands (but she also has a room humidifier). She doesn't let the cats in there, so they're safe. I keep mine in cases. How hard is it to get it out of a case?
Members Faber
I keep most of them in their cases and the one I usually practice leaned up into a corner by the couch. I used to keep them all on stands but seven guitars on stands take up a lot of room in a one-bedroom apartment, and besides my stupid cat could knock them down when it went on one of it's crazy running sprees. Members Grantus
I have a 3-year-old, so wall hangers aren't really a good option.
