Members Oldskool Texas
I want a full hollow-body, preferably with P-90s (or tron-style). Budget is $750-ish. This would be used for blues, alt country, Americana type stuff. Which of these would you choose, and why?
Members datru
How about a used Gretsch 5129? (same as the 5120 but with the Dynasonic single coils) More of a real Gretsch sound. They were blowing them out last year and people were getting them cheap, might translate to lower used prices. Love mine:
Members venturehead
I ust bought a Casino for just over $500. Plays like "buttah" and is light as a feather. Seriously, probably my favorite neck of all the guitars I own.
Members vintage clubber
used EPI ES-295 if you can find one. they are really cool!
Members Pine Apple Slim
Plenty of full hollow to choose from. With stock P90s, not so much, Kingpin is all I know.Other than thatget a Gretsch Electromatic, Epiphone Emperor, Ibanez, whatever and swap the pickups is prob your best option. Members Invader.CC
I voted for the EPI Casino...But have you given any thought to the new Riviera ? G.C or M.F has them on sale for $499..They have the 3 P-90's and look to be a little more thin line then the casino..So i'm not sure if it would fit in your requirements... Members Oldskool Texas
Thanks, Invader. I hear some not-so-good things about the Riviera, although the price is right. I'm not a fan of three pickup guitars (or two, for that matter!), but I'll see if one of the local GCs happen to have one in stock. Good looking guitar, for sure. Members NinjaModder
I vote for an old hollow Teisco! But from your options I would go with the Casino.
Members twofoolsaminute
I like the 295. That would be my pick.
Members Alecto
I own the Godin. I've owned Epiphones, and they don't even come close to the Godin's quality. Reverends are aweseme too, but if you're looking for a full-hollow guitar, the Godin 5th Avenue blows the others out of the water.
