Members pixelchemist
what do you guys do to minimize tube amp hiss when recording... i have put alot of effort into making my rig completely noise/hum free. It wasn't easy but I managed to do it just fine. There is no more noticeable noise or RF at the far end of my rig than there is at the output jack of my guitar (and for those familiar with my pedalboard... you'll understand why that was not easy to accomplish). So now I have one last hurdle to tackle/educate myself on in that area. Tube amps hiss, its the nature of the beast. I'm not talking anything super loud but just that normal faint background his that goes on with tube amps. For those of you who are recording, how do you counter that when recording softer cleaner stuff? I can hide it by cranking up the volume which generally works fine but for obvious reasons that's not always an option. I'm curious for those recording at house friendly volume levels what steps you take to get maximum signal to noise ratio.
