Members Deadm1r
My father used to play in a band when he was a teen, and since I got my new LP he's been picking it up here and there to play. Problem is, his fingers are too big for the neck, he'll try to fret one string and he'll be muting the strings above and over what he's fretting. Are there any guitars with wider necks? Like, more space between strings than an LP would have? thanks in advance!
Members Becker Guitars
PRS necks come in wide-thin and wide-fat i believe, although idk if they are any wider than your gibson. having said that i played a wide-fat yesterday and didn't find it very comfortable. i'm guessing your LP is 1 11/16", so try looking for something with 1 3/4". maybe even look for something with a flatter radius too. Members Flatspotter
Warmoth has a super-wide neck that's 1-7/8" wide, but you have to assemble the guitar yourself, and they're not cheap.

Members PrawnHeed
A classical guitar is really the only thing significantly wider. A few 16 ths of an inch spread between the 6 strings is not going to make a real difference. That said, the biggest thing would be practise and accurate fretting. Members John Backlund
On the (relatively) lower end, weren't there were some Agile 'LP' models that were offered with wider necks from Rondo Music? Found one! 1 3/4 nut width on this model..http://www.rondomusic.com/al2000tobaccowide.html
Members razordave
http://www.biglouguitar.com/index.htm I don't know anyone who's tried one of these, but it's supposed to be exactly what you are looking for. rd
