Members Dash4814
A guy has these for sale. Both were bought brand new and never played. He wants $2950 for the '59 and $2500 for the '63. How are those prices?
Members Wyatt
I assume you mean the V59 (which pre-dated the C58) and V63 RI's? Because it would seem suspicious that he happened to just have originals from the exact same two years that reissues are named for and they had never been played. Members Dash4814
No idea. He's sending pics this evening. If they were original...?
Members Dash4814
He also has a '64 360/12 and a '67 Super Beatle.
Members Dash4814
Aside from serials, how would I spot a reissue?
Members Wyatt
No idea. He's sending pics this evening. If they were original...? Well, you would be looking at every Lennon fan's wet dream. $10,000-15,000 As is, he has them priced on average for the RI's. I expect he knows what he has and what they are worth. There was a 360V64 RI as well. The 325V59, 325/350V63 and 360V64 were the unofficial Beatle RI's for the '80's and '90's. Something around 5 years ago they replaced them with the C series. Members Dash4814
Probably reissues given the price then. Damn! I was getting greedy.
Members fuzztone
Here is an "original" 1964 325 that was on ebay recently for $5495 (Link) All the collectors on the Rickenbacker forum were very skeptical about it's authenticity. Caveat emptor.
