Anyway, my best guess is some kind of attempted fix, so you're not alone. Maybe he really wanted a floyd and thought that the screws sticking out looked "{censored}in bitchin man!" That did occur to me, actually! Perhaps that's why the bridge plate wasn't attached... It had a fair bit of movement either way, but it detuned a lot. Anyway, it's the first Strat I've set up to trem both ways. I'm hoping it'll be my Dave Gilmour, Hank Marvin and Eric Clapton guitar. The only one I own (that works) without a single humbucker, also.
