Members New Trail
Why not use Precision bass split coil pickups on a Strat? AFAIK bass pickups are not wound different to be more bassy (I already have an old Danelectro lipstick bass pickup on a Strat and it sounds great, not bassy at all) and they would be single coil but noiseless! Has anyone tried this?
Members PrawnHeed
They would be humbuckers and have a string spacing problem.
Members wartoxin
single coil but noiseless is that the only reason you want them? For what it's worth Leo Fender did adapt the idea to strats, in some G&L lines. Sometimes they are called Z pickups. Don't expect anything better than noiseless fender (or other brands) single coils though.

Yeah, that's true, but just try finding a set of Fender XII pickups at a reasonable price. I think there's ONE Fender XII pickup on Gbase for $499.00! Precision pickups are available everywhere! P bass pickups are so wide I don't think string spacing would be an important issue!
