Even though it's became a standard, that tone is still so unmistakeably "Chet". One of my guitar heroes who I was fortunate enough to see a few times. As far as the tone components: Start with a Gretsch, add filtertrons or dynasonic pickups, a Standel amp, then practice your ass off. There are variations on that formula that will help you achieve that tone. Good thing too because Standel amps are the hardest part of it.
