So i really love my Squire CV strat...white...maple neck...all cool.

However im not a fan of the pickups...so was thinking of this:

2 pickups only, One bridge and one neck. P90 for bridge and single coil tex-mex style pickup for the neck...then i would get rid of 5 way swtich and have 3 way, and get rid of the three nobs and have a 1 volume nob.

Im new to P90's and single coil pickups...what do you guys recommend...the gibson p90 are in the price range...but are they any good? And what are alternative single coils for the neck for a smooth deep clear sound (in fact i might end keep the one that came with guitar, as its not too bad)

All suggestions and advice is appreciated.

I'm a fan of Gibson's pickups, their P90s included. BG pickups get lots of raves here, but I see more posts about his P90s and humbucker-sized P90s than other ones, I think. That's a good sign.

I really like Fender Texas Specials, especially in the neck position.
