Members deanmass
Ok...first Bigsy guitar ( Reverend Manta Ray 390 Limited). Went to change strings for the first time. CANNOT get the low E to line up, and a few of the other are a touch out of line. Loosened and moved them from the bridge bar itself, attempting to line them up, but nada. Did they f-my bridge up when they built it or is it my Bigsby newbage?
Members Help!I'maRock!
what do you mean that you can't get it to line up?
Members deanmass
From the post on the trem, around the top, over the slotted roller then to align with the nut slot. It's like the bridge needs to move towards the upper bout/body line about a 1/16 of an inch.

Members deanmass
The string will not seat. It pops off. Three strings so far, .46.

Members vcnyls
When I had the Bigsby installed on my 335 the low E would pop off the bridge too. I had them deepen the notch on the saddle a little bit and that fixed the issue.
Members deanmass
That was what I was thinking- dremel it a touch, but it seems like the tweak in the alignment would screw up the intonation?
Members RunJonnyRun
Once u put the string on the post and it wraps around the bar, you are running the strings under the tension bar and then to the bridge right? I'm only assuming this might be the mistake made cuz even I messed that up a couple weeks ago. Got 4 strings on before I realized I hadn't run any of them under the tension bar. Was wondering why nothing was sting in the saddles.
Members Texas Noise Factory
Got a pic to illustrate? I've got a roller bridge and a Bigsby on my ASAT. Can't quite understand your problem tho...
Members deanmass
The tension bar thing might be it ...I'll check it and if not, drop a pic up.
Members RunJonnyRun
It should look like this The strings go from the posts clockwise around the string bar, and then under the tension bar and up to the bridge.

Members honeyiscool
Oh, and use a capo. It helps hold {censored} down because you need three hands for a Bigsby change.

Good tip, but, I have been using this one for years... Capos are good to have anyway. They are kind of like your towel in HHG.
