Members GreatDane
i have been quite enjoying the new Baroness double CD "Yellow & Green" that came out last month. it's got a more "mainstream" sound than their other albums, but i really dig it. Members Snowcow
Steve Vai's "The Story of Light" is phenomenal. Favorite album of the year so far. I was pleasantly surprised with that album. I've been listening to it for the last few days. I just wish he wouldn't do vocals. Still, it's a good "safe" Vai album that all fans should enjoy. 'John The Revelator' is a standout track. The new Joe Walsh album is very good too, although some of the lyrics are a little cheesy.

Members Special J
Cool! This thread delivered! I love the varied tastes of my fellow HCEG'ers. I picked up The Shins album straightaway, as I've been looking forward to that one. Great stuff. A little more polished than their previous albums, but that's not a bad thing. I don't normally pay much attention to "classic rocker" releases, but I will listen further to the Rush and Joe Walsh albums. Baroness! Holy crap, how was I not turned on to these guys sooner? I may have to seek this one out on vinyl, cuz this is just the kind of thing I like to throw on the turntable and make my walls shake. Also, great driving music too, though. I'll dive into the back catalog as well. The other standout for me in this thread is The Alabama Shakes. Very cool stuff. I'll also check out the Mars Volta and Jack White releases, just based on their previous work.
