You'll need to protect those frets with tape or similar, as they will get damaged if you don't pay enough attention. Use files to carve out the wood. A long time ago I had a guitar tech scallop a Strat and he was careful about the fret tops but the sides of the frets were butchered. Be careful. No dremels!! You gotta be able to get some microtonal stuff, like in Indian music I'm no Gorilla-Gripper,& play 9's,so the pressure isn't an issue for me. Might actually try 10's on the next one,all your bends/microtones are smoother & the slightly increased tension might be OK,too. An old bud of mine played an Ibanez with the Traintrack fretwire with 11's,it was about as close as I've come across to a scalloped feel. Not too bad,coming from a 9's guy,actually...
