Members Elias Graves
The Dismal Ax is more distressed than relic'd. I like that look.As for the simulated wear relic, it's ok I guess but I wouldn't pay extra to get it. I kinda like my new guitars to look new. Members kayd_mon
I agree that heavy relic'ing doesn't make you look like you play a guitar a lot, it makes it look like you drop the guitar a lot. Finish wear happens, sure, but a lot of those relic jobs are just ridiculous.

Members liko
The license plate pickguard is a pretty sweet idea.I think you and I have different definitions of "relic'd". A relic'd guitar has been artificially aged. However skillfully done, it's like reverse plastic surgery IMHO; you're making the axe look like something it's not (old).A guitar that's earned its scars with age and use is "battle-tested", or "well-loved", or simply "vintage". These guitars have mojo, where relic'ed guitars do not. Also, what you're showing are not what I would call relic'ed guitars either. Refinished, definitely. You've taken an otherwise run-of-the-mill, million-like-it guitar and made it into something rarer, more unique. These specific examples from Rebel are mostly built from repurposed wood and specifically put together to look like a salvaged instrument. The wood's earned that look; it came from old framing timbers.

Members Mr.scary96
My Ibanez ST-50 (yes I know I refer to it a lot) has been naturally reliced by whoever had it before me and so does my Peavey T-15 with the dings on it and slight wear on the neck
