Members Drumming4Him
Er, I think I might be playing too many 5 stroke rolls. But it seems like it's unavoidable because they seem to be everywhere, or sound nice in many situations. They don't neccessarily scream 5 stroke rolls; they may be hidden in some sorta lick or fill. Members 1001gear
You're probably "just in a phase" with 'em. Most pop stuff doesn't need anything beyond the basic groove and a variation or two. The basic form is usually pretty obvious and if you stick to supporting that structure you may be less inclined to indulge in the "high resolution connectivity" . Members Buzter
My always used to tell me to lay off the rimshots until you need them. I listened and learned to do just that. Sometimes musicality is helped along alot just by variation. If you have a good snare drum you don't to use so many rimshots.
