Members Jarick
I had an old C-series (with basswood and poplar and other filler) that sounded fantastic. Even with stock heads and everything...lots of compliments. I had that kit for years as my gigging kit, and my parents still think it sounded better than my current Keller maple kit or my old Starclassics. I've been considering downsizing to a Pacific again...the newer shells have much better quality wood with better edges and DW style tom mounts. There's a couple FS birch kits for cheap locally...been considering one of those, but I'm also looking at the Catalina maples and a few others. Members Acrobatic
If I had like $2000 right now to spend on drums, I'd buy cymbals and this beauty, this kit is gorgeous and I've heard a similar set up (Different finish, minus the smallest tom), it sounds beautiful: http://drums-percussion.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pacific-Drums-by-DW-FS-6Piece-Drum-Kit?sku=444822 PDP is a great brand IMO.
