I suspect that the people who have said this to you are just out of touch with some of the strides that Ludwig has made in the last five years. Lots of people, like myself, have begun to see Ludwig as a huge force to be reckoned with in today's drum market. Add to that the people who have a big affinity for the brand based on its longevity, its status as an American company, and its great vintage drums, and you have a HUGE fan base. Here's the last 50 years of history in a nutshell : You did leave off the first part of my comment. I basically said that, yes, I was misinformed. First kit I ever played was an old Ludwig kit that my dad's friend let me borrow while he gave me lessons. I just really haven't heard many people talk of them lately, that's all.
