Members dustin//
just bought a dw 5140 throne off ebay a few months ago and it's just horrible. it was to replace a torn up pearl roadster throne, but i've kept using the pearl. are any of the pacific thrones more comfortable? more padding? i never have sat in a throne i thought was uncomfortable until this one... Members marko46
I can't actually address whether or not DW or Pdp makes a comfortable throne. I think a ton of people think that if it say's "DW", it has to be the epitome of perfection. I can say that I have this with the added back rest and love it:http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/ROC-N-SOC-Original-Saddle-Drum-Throne?sku=445881 I also own this throne that stays here in the basement, (it's all black) and it's very comfy:http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pork-Pie-Round-Drum-Throne?sku=440791 The one I'd really like to set my ass on is this one:http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pork-Pie-Gel-Drum-Throne?sku=581074 Prolly like setting on a big ass moongel that hopefully won't stick to your ass. marko
Members dustin//
would love any of those, but they're all about double what i paid for the dw. much rather stick to my old one then fork out that much for a throne...wish i could grab any of them used though for sure. Members JimmyNZ
I use a big fat Pdp one, very similar to the Pork Pie Marko wants to put his ass on. It'a DT900. http://www.pacificdrums.com/hardware/

Members D Carroll
I use the Tama ergo rider http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Tama-HT730-ErgoRider-Drum-Throne?sku=440485 Best damn thing.
Members louied78
I almost got the Tama too, but I got a discount from a local store on the Gibraltar and it is the best I have owned. I didn't want to put down that kind of dough for one either, but it is well worth it. http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibraltar-Drum-Throne-with-Oversized-Motorcycle-Seat-and-Backrest?sku=490753
Members Chiisu
Spent the extra money for a RocNSoc, and my ass and back thank me Still need to get the back rest; I found that in any chair without one, I slouch like a mofo
Members cdawg
roc n soc here, too. sure, it's exspensive. but as soon as i got one, i felt silly for putting up with the cheap ones for sooo long.
Members kmart
I have 2 RocnSoc bike seats: one for the live rig, one stays at home with the home practice kit. Since I have a baby now and don't get to play at home for the most part, the 'at home' one will likely move to the new band's rehearsal spot, and the cheaper/thinner/less comfortable Pearl one will come home. The RocnSoc seats are VERY comfortable, and I'm a big boy...
