Members skatalite
Hey all! My fiance wants to learn the drums. We live in an apartment so an electric set might be preferred for accessibility and volume, but my parents said we can keep an acoustic set in one of their spare bedrooms if we got on. I looked online and found plenty of acoustic sets for $350 and less, but I have no idea what's good and what isn't. So, what do you all recommend for a beginner's set, less than $350? It'd be nice to have something that could withstand coffee house gigs (folk, indie acoustic music, nothing "heavy") until we can save up more for a better set. Thanks for everything! Members Dendy Jarrett
There are plenty of great beginner sets out there, but BEWARE. These sets take a value dump (typically ... just like a car) right out the door. You may be a little better off buying one step above beginner and then have a semi-pro value when it comes to resale.ORyou can watch your local craigslist and find something used. There are plenty of kids that "want to play drums" and find out quickly that it just isn't for them. Hope that helps.Dendy
