Members guitardude24
So, my friend is a bass player, i play guitar... He's been looking at getting the Cort Curbow 5 string bass...he found one in the "Burlwood finish", but the body of Curbows is not wood, right? So the Burlwood finish is just like painted on or something? Will it wear off like on the back where it rubs up against him? Anyone have any pictures? He would be buying it online...we both have played the bass and love it, but he doesn't want the blue color... Thanks!
Members illidian
Probably not a concern. If it wore off easily, they probably wouldn't offer it. It probably wears about the same as a standard finish does.
Members james on bass
I like the look of those finishes. Genuine imitation wood grain. I've heard the finish on Curbows can wear a bit, but no moreso than on a wood bass I would assume. The only difference is, luthite is a pepto pinkish colour. Members james on bass
Looks like a nice finish. I would say those circles are spots wear the finish has chipped off. Get past the grey primer and you'll pink luthite I believe. Maybe it is not all that durable a finish on those. Looks like the previous owner dropped it hard on something. At least it's on the back.
