Members willsellout
Because bass makes the panties drop!Seriously though, I stumbled on bass and fell in love. I needed something to do while I was underway on a Coast Guard ship. So I bought a bass and a prctice amp and took it with me.
Members Adrenochrome
Did classical music as a kid, then burned out. Taught myself guitar, didn't go anywhere with it. 2 friends needed a bass player, I showed up with a borrowed bass and was instantly hooked - for life I reckon. Actually every time I hear the Dead Kennedys, I'm impressed by the quality of the playing. It's not that they are virtuosos, just that they're all very competent and are playing songs that are very cleverly written. They are much better musicians than a lot of the miserable punk or metal bands you hear today.

Members lug
Of all the rock instruments, Bass reminded me most of Godzilla stomping on Tokyo (appologies to any of our Japanese posters). http://users3.ev1.net/~woodd/godzilla.wav

Members 82Daion
I just love the way it sounds, and how I can actually feel it. I was originally inspired by Entwistle, but recently I realized-why not do me, instead of trying to emulate everyone else? It's been that thought that's motivated me since. Members Jazz Ad
I used to play keyboard. In the early 90s, it was worse than being leprous. No way you could find a band. After trying a few instruments, I found that I was born to be bassist. Nothing better on Earth.

Members negge
Wanted to play an instrument, everybody plays the guitar, okay most... never been intrested in playing drums so i considered the bass. Friend played the guitar, another friend had dreams of becoming a drummer, we joked about putting a band together, i was supposed to become the bassist. I actully started considering it more seriously, after all i've always loved the bass lines, especially bass intros, theres just something about em. I finally bought a used amp and bass really cheap and i was instantly hooked after a few days of playing.... and what do you know we actually have a band now, and another dear old friend on the second guitar. Theres nothing like good friends jamming together, dream come true we even got a gig only two days after we started to play togheter at a local festival wow, did we suck yeah thats the story so far:)
