Members boyakasha Posted January 13, 2006 Members Share Posted January 13, 2006 Is it possible (or a really bad idea) to play bass (with a 100w tube bass head) through a Marshall JCM800 4x12 with 30w Eminence Alnico squareback speakers? Guitar cabs usually can't handle the amount of low end that Bass puts out. That being said, I know absolutely nothing about the capabilities of that particular speaker. Members bnyswonger Posted January 13, 2006 Members Share Posted January 13, 2006 Back in high school (1971 or 72), my friend John Arduser saved his pennies and bought a full 100w tube marshall stack. I played bass through it a few times...careful to not overpush the speakers to distortion. It DID sound awesome, but again I was being very careful. I think he still has that amp.
