Members deanevanbassist
What is the verdict on the Boss OC-3? I'm looking to replace mine. Any reccoemendations?
Members Onkel Bob
You need one that tracks well. I don't know how that one is but the Boss bass synth pedal tracks like {censored}, so I'm not inclined to trust a Boss pedal in this case. EBS makes one that I like. Members version
i use the oc-3 and don't have any issues with it. i especially like using the ocatve with the distortion...it can do a killer lightning bolt sort of sound.
Members EricF
Rumor has it that the older OC-2 is better. The EBS is pretty highly regarded as being one of the better ones on the market. I'm pretty happy with my MXR M-88. It might not be the best one out there, but I haven't found a reason to replace it.

Moderators isaac42 Posted July 6, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 6, 2006 I have an OC-2, and I've never been impressed with it. It tends to octave the second harmonic when the notes get low. Works fine on the test bench, though.

Im kind of a fan I just said that the boss bass synth isn't very good. Mostly a toy. It tracks so poorly that it's almost completely useless in an actual band situation. And based on that I wouldn't trust another boss pedal that needs to track in the same way. Basically my point was that I wouldn't buy it without trying first. I've always thought a bass octave should have one octave down and one up.
