Members fieldja
ive heard most of your standard guitar effects work on bass. But would an envelope filter?
Members Onkel Bob
Otherwise you could get the EH Q-tron. I really like that one and that will work on bass.
Members Funkee1
Envelope filters are great for bass because they dont' alter the fundamental very much.

Members Rusty the Scoob
It's probably the #1 bass effect, tied with distortion. The only pedal I run. I'm partial to the old style Dod FX-25, Mu-Tron if you can afford one, or Lovetone Meatball if you can find and afford one. Or have one fall in your lap for $20 like I did. I want the mini q-tron. I'm trying to decide between that and some other gear, or an autocrossing/weekend car.
Members sunburstbasser
EHX makes several goodies. The Bassballs is also very nice, though you have to open it up to get to two of the knobs.
Members syciprider
I was very disappointed with the Bassballs. Ditto the Mini Q. The best Env Filter out there for less than $100 is the Digitech BSW. Heck of an octaver also.

Members syciprider
It was too synthy for my taste and I can hear the whooshing noise that the pedal made. It was ok when masked by outboard distortion. The built in one was a joke. However, it is true bypass for the folks who look for such things.
