Oh. I didn't know you were black, I get it now. I mean that I've heard the stereotype but never knew where it came from. I wonder if collard greens giving me gas has anything to do with me being white.

You got it. I'll bet I spend three or four hours every day thinking about how I could keep black folk down, if I knew any.

Remember, comfort foods will vary with region and ethnicity. For alot of people in the northeast area, comfort food is something like meatloaf with string beans and mashed potatoes or pork chops. I never had that growing up.

Chicken & Dumplins (the fluffy kind, not the noodly kind)

Pot Roast (with potatoes, carrots, green peppers, etc.) and those packaged brown & serve rolls to sop up the gravy

Country fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy and green beans

Good meaty chili (no beans) with crushed up wheat thins on top

Fried pork chops, black-eyed peas, cold sliced tomatoes and corn bread. Optional side: pork chop gravy over sliced bread

Any/all with a tall, bottomless glass of sweet ice tea

Fish and Brewis with scrunchions.

(salt codfish mixed with chunks of soaked hard tack, covered in little chunks of fried fatback pork.)

Salt fish and potatoes.

Jiggs Dinner (Salt beef, potatoes, carrots, turnip and cabbage cooked in the same pot served with pease pudding).

Rabbit Pie

Blueberry grunt with hard sauce.

All of these just remind me of home and family.

No wonder there are so many fat people with hypertension around here!!! :D

Grilled-cheese sandwich, and tomato soup.

PB&J.

chicken pot pie.

Breakfast at a diner....eggs, bacon, toast, potato's, coffee, juice.

Burger and fries...burger charred nicely, on a crusty hard roll with mayo, lettuce and tomato.

Breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Pot roast and buttered egg noodles.

Meatloaf and mashed potato's. Actually, damned near anything with mashed potato's.

Chili, the way I make it, which is basically like how Wendy's sells it, but without the suspect ground beef....
