Members joe s
me thinks...Jeff Berlin by a long ways. I saw them in Seattle last weekend (fri nite). I was most familiar with Stu's and Billy's work. I was only aware of a couple of recordings with Jeff backing up other people's efforts.... But Jeff smoked these other two guys totally. Being a jazz guy his soloing was much more melodic and interesting. His grooves were way more interesting and well rounded to my ear as well. Their encore..when all three were on stage together was a hoot... They did... Big Bottom - Spinal Tap and the Eric Clapton/Cream arrangement of Crossroads... both songs were very entertaining...my fav was BB it cracked me up. Good show all in all. Sorry if this is a repeat thread...I just had to say it. Regards, joe s

Members mrmatt64
3 totally different styles, really can't compare an accomplished jazz player (Berlin) , with a technical instrumental "rock" bassist (Hamm) with an overdriven happy metal head (Sheehan). It's like trying to compare Rush Vs. Spyro Gyra...... Now let's try comparing Jeff Berlin vs. John Pattitucci Mr. Matt

Guess I'm an overdriven happy metal head too.
Members hasbeen
I saw those three at Bass Player Live. My vote goes for when Stanely, Marcus and Victor did their trio.

I've never heard anything like that before...it gave me goosebumps!

Members Iloveneilp
I like Stanley Clarke. With a close second to Victor Wooten. Oh, and of course, I gotta throw Geddy in there...

Members TN.Frank
I've been on a big Billy Sheehan kick for the last couple weeks so I'd have to vote for him.
Members bnyswonger
Berlin also has been a competitive boxer. He could put those girlie men on the ground right quick.
