Members willsellout
I don't..honestly if I knew as much as you about music, I would venture into more strings. But I don't know {censored} as it is and have trouble figuring out 5. that, plus I have small hands and it's hard to play anything larger than a 5, unless it's an Ibanez SDGR 6'er.Speaking of which, I might hit you up on your lessons in the near future. I need to learn theory. Dan

Members Jazz Ad
Maybe a 3rd try is in order ?I'm fine with 4, 5 is often very practical.6 or up, I never really needed or wanted.I think I really am a bass person at heart, as in bass range. Members Funkee1
5 is enough for me. In fact, I am contemplating doing a Tony Levin, and going back to 3 strings!

Members NeonVomit
6 here, and I'm just fine with them! My goal is to do what I do on a 6, but on a 4. I've found that by playing on a 6, my playing on a 4 has become a lot more varied and interesting as the sudden limitations force me to be more creative. I'll stick at it for another 10 years or so then switch back to a 4 and totally slay

Members greenshag
I actually prefer 4 and 6 string basses, and don't really like 5 strings....makes no sense to me, but that is the way it is:idk:

Moderators The Eristic Posted May 19, 2007 Moderators Share Posted May 19, 2007 http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/the_eristic/Gear/eshenbaugh/ I'm kinda on the tall side (6'7"), and most 7-string necks are actually more comfortable and natural for me than basses with fewer strings. They don't look as tiny on me, either. :^D
