Members Cortfan
Since I have flats on my shortscale Fender Musicmaster, I would go with the flats. However, I have flats on every bass. I took some new Rotosound rounds off the 5 string Peavey, and replaced them with Carvin flats today. They look like GHS flats with the purple silks, and that is o.k. with me, since I have them on my Cort. ymmv.
Members Thumper
Slap on the rounds and hit 'em with a pick. I think you'll like what you hear.
Members bassman1956
On my Epi EA-260, short 30.5" scale, hollow-body, I have Rotosound flats 77's. Good vintage thump.

Members Billy-B
I just put a set of these on my SS and love them (got them off e-bay). The 108 E really tightens it up, and they sound killer. Sorry no link, but search this if you'd like:GHS BASS STR. BRITE FLATS SHORT-REG 3070 1 SET Billy-B
Members Darkstorm
The only time one would use flats imo is when wanted that flatround sound. Wether long, normal, or short scale makes no diff in the equation.
Members GRANKOR
I hate flats so I'll say rounds
