Members Thumper Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 :eek: :love: I think Thom Peterson uses a lower powered version as part of his bi-amp system for his 12ver.
Members mike fitzwell Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 Switchable 4,8,16 ohm impedance switch Sweet! A tube bass amp I can finally run my 16 ohm bass cab with safely!
Members walkerci Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 The bass tube amp market seems to be saturated in the 200W to 400W range right now. Who else would like to see a tube amp in the 500W+ range that doesn't need a forklift to move around?

Who the hell would need that much power? Seriously? Dan
Members bikehorn Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 Sweet, I guess it fills the niche that their DR201 clone didn't. It looks like a nice amp and Reeves has a reputation for high build quality. I don't like how most manufacturers seem to lie about their power ratings though. In this case they're lying more than other makers seem to, since I highly doubt that amp really produces 225 watts. that's like...135% of the combined total maximum plate disappation of 4x KT88s! It's rare that makers specify the THD at which their power is measured. Sure it could produce 225 watts, a nice round figure for the marketing types, but at what? 15% THD? actually trying to extract that kind of power would put tube life in the basement. any "200 watt" bass amp is probably more like 150-170 watts at any reasonable level of poweramp distortion IMO.

Members Fiery Furnace Posted October 11, 2007 Members Posted October 11, 2007 $2,499.00?? That's nuts.
