do you "pluck" the string with your pinkie?

My pinky is easily a 1/2" shorter than my index finger, rendering it fairly unusable. I'll use the index, middle and ring regularly and have been practicing using the upstrokes of the index and middle for more speed, fluid motion, etc.. rendering the pinky un-needed at this point as well.

Index and middle only.

No callous on the pinky, too short, and weaker than other fingers leads to bad, uneven tone.

vary rarely but I have done ....you can develop 16th notes in a bar by using all fingers instead of burning out your index and middle. My second teacher taught me how ...you start on the pinky, like you do when you strum your finders aon a table top. Takes practice! I think Harris uses this technique in 'Run to the Hills' by Iron Maiden
