12yr Glenfiddich, merlot, champange, beer, and I feel great this morning.


We BBQ'd a turkey last night. Yummy. Beer can turkey. Like beer can chicken, but with a turkey. It took over 3 hours on the grill, but it was by far the juiciest, best tasting turkey I have ever had. Ever.

I forgot. It was so cold outside that the basting sauce kept freezing. I had to stir it every couple minutes so it wouldn't freeze solid. Here is the recipe for those who want to try.

Marinade/basting sauce:
2 cups dark porter beer
2 cups whole milk
2 cups orange juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Rub:
1 tablespoon paprika

Marinade the bird overnight if possible. Rub paprika all over the bird before grilling. Grill over medium heat for 2-3 hours until the internal temperature reaches 170 degrees. Let it sit for 20 minutes before carving.
