mp3 content - joybuzzer: one word, singular...

Well, here it is...

Back in 1992 or so I was in an original band: joybuzzer.

I played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals.

When we played out there seemed to be some confusion about the band's name...we always got called "The Joybuzzers". So when we recorded our CD we thought it would be a good idea to clarify the band's name, hence the title: "joybuzzer - one word, singular..."

It was also kind of a nice double entendre.

Without further ado, here's track 1 - speak for yourself:

joybuzzer - 01 speak for yourself

Edited to include the other 9 tracks:

joybuzzer - 02 what i need

joybuzzer - 03 kicking down the walls

joybuzzer - 04 grandpa

joybuzzer - 05 driving me away

joybuzzer - 06 donna reed

joybuzzer - 07 i forget everything

joybuzzer - 08 once was when

joybuzzer - 09 the way of things

joybuzzer - 10 ann boleyn

i can dig it. has a bit of a funk vibe to it.

anybody else think that some horns would sit nicely in the mix?

...and Happy New Year to you, too!

Seriously, you guys have made my '08!

I was the principal songwriter on the second track -what i need.

I'll say that the drums and my (rhythm) guitar were recorded live at our industrial garage rehearsal space.

Mike McCarthy, our drummer, had polished off a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew before the session, so all tracks are a bit fast...

Bass, vocals, and the Phil Spector wall o' lead guitars were recorded at my apartment by Mark Warren as recording engineer.

Here is track two - what i need:

Seriously, if I was hanging out in Tampa and I heard either song on WMNF or one of the other indie stations down there, I wouldve found out who the band was and bought this album

Thanks!

Of course, through the miracle of the Internet, you can have it for free!

Track 3 was written primarily by our bass player, Bill Malik. I helped finish up the lyrics and Mark arranged the song and wrote the music for the bridge.

*sigh*

There is a reason you usually download CDs whole not piece them together. He could even put the play-by-play in the download/one post

"Here, here is my free music for you to enjoy, review and access."

"You're too inefficient, make access easier."

{censored}, a-you. :thu: It's free access to some cool samples of an old project. Enjoy or leave, but let him present it on his own time and terms.

Two reasons:

1. It was 3:30am on New Year's Eve when I posted

2. I wanted to tell a story...

I'll probably go back an edit the original post eventually.

As far as posting the whole CD, I don't know how/where to do that.

I just found HC Bloody Velvet yesterday...

:idk:

Thanks for having my back, DUDE!

1) Gather up all of the songs in a folder with a notepad document play-by-play.

2) Convert the folder to a RAR file.

3) Go on a site like megaupload, rapidshare, etc. and upload the RAR.

4) Post download link.

5) ???

6) Profit.

or

Just edit the OP with all of the links and 'stories.'

It is not that hard :deadhorse:

OK, track 4 - grandpa.

This was always a favorite.

When I was writing it I had in mind a kind of goofy, off beat metaphor. I had just received an overcoat that was my great uncle's who had recently died.

I thought about "walking a mile in someone's shoes" and wearing the clothes of someone you loved who was no longer alive. The phrase "grandpa's boxers" came out of that thought process.

The song ended up being really sentimental and "grandpa's boxers" was changed to "grandpa's rocker" in live performances, but here's how it was recorded:

Asshole.

You are taking this waaay too seriously.

You might consider applying some of your technical expertise to freshen up your Myspace page.

What's wrong with it?

No way am I turning anything of mine into some MSPaint-fest.

I notice you've been making lots of friends today.

Not quite. A stalker maybe, but no friends.
