Members Hotblack
No cheesteak. Pastrami? That's another matter entirely. ...better on rye or wheat.
Members cdb
I grew up in philly. Never went to Pat's or Genos. And yeah your only choices should be what kind of cheese and whether or not you want onions. Anything beyond Whiz, Provolone, American, and it's not a real cheesesteak. I've never ordered a chessesteak around here before. What the hell is up with putting peppers or mushrooms on it and calling it a Philly Cheesesteak? Peppers? NEVER! Mayo? {censored} no. Blasphemy--You might as well put steak-ums on wonder bread and call that a cheese steak No ketchup, no mustard, EVER-- but cherry peppers, dried hot peppers and hot sauce are acceptable after-market condiments
Members Roger in the sky
When I rarely eat them...I go to Philly, and get them from Pats. I've had Genos before, and it wasn't as good. I have it with whiz...and that's all. both those joints are wack dude
Members Roger in the sky
Why not? 'cause those places are for tourists, and kids from jersey the best cheesteaks come from carts or {censored}ty pizza joints
Members Roger in the sky
the best cheesesteak is the "sou philly" from sunset city pizza spinach, roasted peppers and extra sharp provalone.wait untill after 9pm the dude is usually pretty wasted by then. the more soused he he is the better he cooks. ironically, they have the WORST pizza in the world. seriously thinking about it makes me want to cry
Members dDigitalPimp
Never in the neighborhood, and they're not the best, just the most famous. I've been to Rick's, which is a second generation Pat's downtown. Heck I've bever been to the Liberty Bell or any of that stuff either.Anyway, Provolone WitJims and Tony Lukes are good options. this man speaks the trut! there are much better places than the two everyone talks about in philly. best steak i ever had was a hole in the wall off of broad street near the gayborhood. ill take mine provolone wit (onions) no shrooms thats just wrong. if youve ever ordered a cheesesteak in philly they will LOL at you if you dont know how to order. Members bholder
Very light on the onions if any, no peppers, maybe mushrooms, that's it. If they have some better cheese than yellow american, it's much better.
Members Thumper
You all are bastages. That's it. Members willsellout
Ribeye sliced thin, walla walla onions sauteed, and a sweet home made cheese sauce using gruyere and extra sharp cheddar! Yeah it's not very "Philly" (from what I remember), but it's so {censored}ing good! Dan
