Members willbill0587
I could get the Bergie NV610 or the GB XB610 for about the same price. But which one?Over on talkbass, I here they call the Bergie the 810 killer? From what I've been reading, the Bergie cabs are nigh on impossible to beat? What is your take on this and what would you consider instead. Just to let you know, it will be playing mostly basic rock, Aerosmith type stuff, but I will play other stuff on it too.I've looked at Mesa but they are a joke, I could get a Bergie NV610 AND the NV215 for the same price a the Mesa 1000. So, any thoughts?

Members willbill0587
I should re-write that, Mesa PRICES are a joke in Europe, their gear I am sure kicks much ass but at that price? DOUBLE what it costs for a Bergie or GB?
Members T. Alan Smith
In the world of 1x12" cabs, the Berg was a real standout to my ears from the Boogie & Genz Benz. That said, they are all great cabs.I'd venture to say the same with the 6x10" cabs your looking at. The names are all quite reputable. Bergantino customer service is excellent. Have you listened to any of these cabs? If not, what do each of them list for and go with the biggest bang for the buck.
Members RSBro
Mesa quality demands their prices, and people pay it. Worth it in my book. I've heard too many great things about the NV610 to think for a second about not buying one, if I should ever need that type of cab.

Genz stuff is really nice, so don't get me wrong. But those Berg cabs are the {censored}.

Members justinbass
Both cabs are amazing. Both brands have excellent customer support. Both will work well with what you play. I am one of the biggest GB fan boys out there, and even I won't say the GB is better than the Berg. Over at TB, the NV610 seems to be the one cab to rule them all. Members guitargod0dmw
Phantasm has the NV610 as well. He loves it, but stressed the importance of how well it works in a band setting. He wasn't impressed with it solo...but once he heard it with a band, he was totally sold. He can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong... You can always PM him too... Members RSBro
I don't really even LIKE sealed cabs, but based on what reviews people were giving, I seriously almost grabbed an NV215 that same day!

Members JeffBass
Warwick and Markbass also have 6x10 cabs that look real nice. Bassplayer magazine used to be fun when they had "shootouts" by comparing similar gear from different manufacturers. Now the magazine is too sterile for me so I didn't renew my subscription. Jeffbass's 6x10 Shootout!! BergieGenz BenzMesaMarkbassWarwick Now that would be a cool issue! I'd make Bergie the early favorite because they are specialists. Bang-for-buck is figured into the rankings which means the Mesa could come in last if it's grossly overpriced, although it could still win if it stands out. The Warwick looks supercool from the pics I've seen.
Members rpsands
Markbass's 6x10 vs. a Genz Genz 6x10 is like having Mike Tyson fight Fedor. Not even in the same league.
Members willbill0587
Poltergeist, go to www.bassdirect.co.uk The ONLY Bergie dealer here, they also specialize in GB too. As for bang for buck, out of most of the 610s mentioned, the Bewrgie is the cheapest. I'd love to compare it to the Glock sixbox but the Glock is quite a bit dearer plus it has that stupid 2.7ohm thingy goin' on, sayin' that, so does the Markbass. Is there anything else you would consider other than the Bergie 610? It doesn't need to be a 610, thats just what Bergie do...

It sounds good on its own, but really shines in a band setting. That was when I "got it." I also find that the cab likes power and likes to be run near its power rating. I have a GK 2001RB so this isn't a problem. Try to keep that in mind also when you're kicking the tires...

Members REMUS
I don't know, i'm deciding on whether to get an Epifani UL310 or one of those. The problem with the Epi is their weird Ohm ratings... I think the UL310 is 5.3 or something like that... What the hell is 8Ohm+5.3Ohm gonna work out at either way I can't use a GK head since they are rated for 4 Ohm, which means spoogeing on something else.
